The Zoo/Thanksgiving/Random Cuteness

Random cuteness first - I got out Evan's new really cute playgym and he immediately grabbed the ring!  Completely accidentally, I'm sure, but still exciting!

Right before Thanksgiving, we took a trip to the zoo. It was a nice day, and maybe one of the last nice days we have. 

This is the brand new lion exhibit!   All glass and the lions can get right up close!

We got super close to the zebras....

And just so you know me and Evan were there too.

My matching boys on Thanksgiving - Jack's had this outfit for a long time and I just happen to run into the newborn version of it at a resale shop!  Sold!

The Zoo/Bubbles/Pappy

I can't believe how many pictures I took within a week at the end of June.  I can't keep up blogging with that many photos!!  We must be having a good time!!


We go to the Zoo on Mondays frequently.   Usually just me and Jack.  This particular Monday was Pappy's last day at our house.   Those of you that are unaware, my dad lived with us for 3.5 months.  We invited Pappy to go with us, but he was busy getting ready to leave.  Rachel had the day off and so did Marcel, so they came with us instead!  Jack was really excited about that!!

It was impossible to get a picture of these 2 boys facing the camera in the beginning.

Even though I couldn't see their faces, I love these.   Marcel was holding Jack's hand to keep track of him in all the people, and then periodically through the day, Jack would grab Marcel's hand. It was very sweet!

Jack waited a LOOONG time to see the prarie dogs.  Aunt Rachel was with them before she sent them into the tubes.  Do you see Jack's hat?  She didn't realize Jack couldn't see anything.

Then finally, Marcel said, "take a picture of us on the rock!"  So, I did.

and then we did it on another rock, and they smiled this time!

Jack enjoyed the zebras, there is a baby zebra right now...

But his favorite exhibit was this....

Yes, both him and Marcel wanted to look at this exhibit the longest.  The lion exhibit being renovated.  Big construction trucks everywhere!

When we got home, we had to stay outside because Pappy was on a conference call.   So, we played with the bubble machine.

and we played with the Cozy Coupe.  But, my son doesn't sit inside the car, this is how he prefers to play with it.

and late that night, Jack said goodbye to Pappy.  He got a job in the British Virgin Islands and left early Tuesday morning. 

23 Weeks/Dinosauria/and more!

Um, yeah, so I missed 22 weeks.  Here is the new update!

 

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along:  23 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby is the size of a large mango! Baby weighs about as much as a large mango -- just over a pound. (Length: more than 11 inches.)  (22 weeks was a spaghetti squash)

Total Weight Gain:  Unsure, my dad has taken over my scale again for his impending move. 

Maternity Clothes: Everything is maternity.

Gender: We don't find out!  We are really thinking this is a boy.

Movement: I'm feeling the baby kick everytime I lay down or sit still for a few minutes.  It's always at the bottom left side, that concerns me that the baby isn't moving around a lot, and is always breech.

Sleep: I've been sleeping really well!

What I miss:  Nothing really right now.

Cravings:  Nothing really right now.

Symptoms: I have very few symptoms at this point, which makes me very happy. This pregnancy is going really really well.  and EASY.  I did get a leg cramp the other night, which is the WORST, but I looked up a stretch to do before bed and I haven't had one since.

Best Moment this week:  nothing really comes to mind, but I'm really really happy about how great I'm feeling!

Last weekend, we had Marcel's 4th birthday celebration!  He wanted to go see Dinosauria at the Detroit Zoo, so, that is what we all did!   Jack really enjoyed it and still talks about it very often!  

 

We were very impressed with this exhibit!

but he was waving to the dinosaurs pretty quickly...

Marcel spent most of the time looking through his stroller...it was pretty funny!   He felt safer in there.

Cake Time!

Then, it was Father's Day....went to church with John's dad and the pig roast afterwards, and then went out to dinner with my dad.

 

Jack also had his first soft serve Dairy Queen ice cream last week! Here he is, very pleased that he has an ice cream cone. 

 But he ate it very timidly.

He definitely enjoyed it, just not as enthusiastically as I thought he would!

16 weeks/Mother's Day/The Zoo

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along:  16 Weeks

Size of baby:  about the size of an avocado!

Total Weight Gain:  I'm not even going to say.  I have no idea how I gained so much in one week after not gaining for so long...

Maternity Clothes: Everything is maternity, except for sweats

Gender: We aren't finding out.  However, the Murrays have all of the sudden started having girls!! The last 2 Murray babies were girls!!  Maybe we will have one!

Movement: Nothing yet.  I'm anxiously waiting!!

Sleep: I've been sleeping really well!

What I miss:  eating whatever I feel like, and not thinking about how much protein I'm getting, or thinking about if what I'm eating might be harmful to the baby.  

Cravings: Deviled eggs and gummy bears.

Symptoms: right now, my biggest symptom is this big round belly I have developed.  I have had some heartburn (not regularly though, thank goodness) and some tailbone soreness (again not regularly).  Both symptoms I do not miss from last time.  

Best Moment this week:   Again, just having relief from the sciatic nerve pain!

 

And since I'm late on this post, Sunday was Mother's Day, obviously, we so we went to brunch with my mom.

And Jack and I went to the Zoo yesterday..nothing unusual, we go to the zoo frequently on Mondays. I just don't usually take pictures.   And, the Mondays we have gone so far haven't been too nice.

He insisted on sitting on every rock and bench we came across.
