It has been a while since I blogged...before the pictures really start piling up, here's an update.
Jack is obsessed with cars, trucks, trains and Thomas. Yes, we don't watch TV, but Jack knows Thomas and LOVES him.
We have been going to the zoo every Monday morning. We go try and see polar bears and then see a few more animals and then we play on the playground.
A couple weeks ago, we DID see a polar bear swimming! The first time ever! Of course, I couldn't get a picture of Jack looking at the polar bear....
This is the best picture of Jack I could get....pretty bad...
We usually have to stop at the fountain to look at the water for a little bit...
And then we play at the playground for a while!
So, then we head home, eat lunch, Jack takes a nap and I scrapbook! Mondays are my new favorite day!
A couple of weeks ago, a friend of John's got some free Tiger tickets in the Tiger Den. The Tiger Den seats are AWESOME seats. Behind the dugout, but they are kind of separated from the regular seats and these are nice, cushioned seats with lots of leg room (aka running room for the toddler!)
This was really cute...he was yelling "hoooome ruuuuun!"
And here he's pointing out the action on the field. (Nothing was happening)
This weekend we have family in town so we will have a new blog post up soon! I promise!

Tiger Story time!
On Thursday, we went to see Nate Robertson and Scott Sizemore of the Detroit Tigers read The ABC's of Detroit Tiger's Baseball at Barnes and Noble. John was still out of town, so it was just me and Jack. I met up with a mom from my mom's group with her 2 kiddos.
Jack was so focused on Paws, the mascot, and I wanted to get a picture with him...Jack started freaking out the minute Paws had a hold of him. Whoops.

Here are Nate and Scott reading the book.
And then they signed the books afterwards.

Jack's first Tiger game!
I never would have thought Jack's first Tiger game would be in October. I can't believe we are playing in October and they aren't playoff games!
It was a beautiful day, and we had the opportunity to clinch our playoff spot. But, we didn't. Of course. We had a good time anyway. Kind of.

We LOVE this Tigers Jacket...it was one of the first gifts I got for Jack when I was pregnant. Thanks Debbie!!
I wore him on my back for a bit.
We rode the ferris wheel.
And the carousel. John didn't get a single good picture of us on the carousel. We got in trouble for sitting like this.
Here is the guy telling us we can't do that.
And we left before the game even ended we were doing so bad. We never leave early! Hopefully our next game will be Game 4 of the ALDS!

27 weeks

The baby is now the size of a cauliflower. It weighs about 2 lbs and is 14.5 inches long. The baby is almost fully developed, down to the eyelashes. His/her immune system is developing now.
I'm getting a lot bigger! I'm officially in my 3rd trimester now, which is kind of scary. I have swollen ankles and fingers.
Over the weekend, we went to the zoo with Bryant, Rachel and Marcel. He's still a little young for the zoo, but it was fun!
John was in Los Angeles at the beginning of the week for work, and he was in the earthquake that hit the area! It was a 5.8 "moderate" earthquake. He said it was pretty scary and it threw him across his hotel room! They had about 100 aftershocks, but John said he only felt a few of them! I'm glad he's home now!
In Tiger news....This guy has been traded...

Yes, Pudge is now a Yankee. I'm sad to see him go, but it was time. We weren't going to sign him again next year, so it was good to get something for him now. He's just not an everyday player anymore, which NY will soon find out. I do hate that he's a Yankee though. Ugh. Pudge really started something here in Detroit, and no one will forget that! We got Kyle Farnsworth for him, a relief pitcher who was on our team in 2005. We really need help in the bullpen, so I am happy with this trade!
Also, if you noticed, I updated my blog, which I have been wanting to do, it's much easier to work with now. I did lose my banner at the top, but I could probably figure it out if I tried for a few minutes. There is now a poll on the right side, so vote if you think we are having a boy or a girl! Also, I have labels on my blog posts, and you can see all 40 of my blog posts relating to the Tigers, if you click on "Tigers" in the "What I'm blogging about section." Or, whatever other topic you'd like to see. Or, you can just ignore the labels completely.

Oh my goodness!!
The Tigers won!! With John and I in attendance!! I really think they've turned it around now...if they can win with us there. I do need a few things for Tiger games though, now that I'm getting bigger. I need a maternity Tiger shirt. And, I need a pad to sit on at the game. Isn't that crazy? I need a pad to sit on??? I just can't stay comfortable at the games anymore. Last night we had to get up and walk around for an inning. Oh well.
Also, a couple weeks ago, my mom and I went on a scrapbooking retreat, and I never posted my pages...so here they are! Click on them to see them larger.

15 weeks Pregnant and the weekend...
Ok, I know you have all been anxiously waiting the new size of the baby....
It is now the size of a....

Pear!
About 4 inches long and weighs about 1 3/4 oz. Legs are now longer than his/her arms and he/she can move all joints and limbs. Eyebrows are beginning to grow and hair may be sprouting on his/her head! Is that cute or what?
I am still tired. And I've gained 5 pounds. I think I need to slow that down. I know 5 pounds in 15 weeks doesn't sound too bad, but if the plan is only to gain 25 total, and you gain most of it at the end...seems like I should slow down. I think once it gets warmer outside and I start swimming, that will help.
I have an ultrasound scheduled for next Wednesday. They will probably be able to tell the sex at that point, but hopefully no one can see, because I don't want ANYONE to know, not even the ultrasound tech! You never know when it could slip out!
I had a little scare last week....I had to make an emergency dental appointment. I had a bad toothache, and we called our midwife and she said I need to get to the dentist ASAP in case I had an infection. That could be very dangerous to the baby. But, dental work is not always baby safe! And, of course, my dentist said he couldn't do what he wanted to do. I needed more anesthesia than he could give me, being pregnant. So, he did what he could, and put a temporary filling in, and I will have to go back after I have the baby. But, the good news is that he said there are no signs of infection. Just a bad cavity.
Friday we went to the Tiger/Yankee game. Prior to that game, John and I are 0-3 at games we've attended this year. But this time, Christine came with us! She must be a lucky charm because the Tigers won!

Apparently, this was my first Mother's Day! I was surprised to get several "Happy Mother's Day" wishes and even more surprised to get a gift! Ok, not so much, because it was from my mom. She got me maternity clothes! A cute shirt, and some jeans. I have to say, the maternity jeans are SO comfortable. I want to wear them all the time. And I'm not that big yet.

Ok, I know I look pretty big in the photo, but really, it's the shirt. I'm not really big enough to wear such a maternity shirt. I was kind of scared at how pregnant I look in that photo!
And, I missed my blog-iversary! I've been blogging for 2 years now! Since May 1, 2006.

Baby update

Since John and I have been rather boring lately, I have not had much to blog about, so I will give a baby update.
I'm 11 weeks, and feeling great! I do get morning sickness sometimes, but it's pretty easy to deal with. It's over fast. Otherwise, no nausea at all! My biggest symptom right now is exhaustion. Extreme exhaustion.
You may be wondering about the strawberry...well, that is how big the baby is right now! He/she has fingers, and toes and tooth buds under the gums! He/she can open it's mouth and make a fist....and he/she is also able to suck it's thumb! How cute!
I figured I should address the gender issue, since it is THE most popular question we've gotten. NO, we are not finding out what we are having. John thinks it's a girl and Uncle Jim and Aunt Nancy are sure it's a boy. We will find out when we deliver. I'm surprised that people think we are crazy! I don't get the big deal, other than decorating the nursery. And, I happen to like gender neutral nurseries better anyway!
Oh and I can't forget about the Tigers. They are now 3-10 and they won last night in dramatic fashion. It was a FANTASTIC game, and I think this is the game that will turn everything around. Let's hope, at least!

1st game of the season
And it was COLD!!!
Here is the view from our seats:

We are really happy with them!
It was a miserable game. We lost and it was SOOOO COLD. This is what we were drinking:

So we are now 0-5. What a disappointing start! But, there are 162 games, losing 5is no big deal...it just hurts that it's the FIRST 5.

Catch up...
It's been a while since I posted and I've gotten some flack for not updating...
Here are some photos from a party Christine had for me to make our announcement. You see, we sent John's parents a fruit bouquet with a card that said "Roses are red, violets are blue, one of your kids is pregnant, can you guess who?" And all day there was speculation about who it could be. We officially told people at the party.

Last weekend, we DROVE to Atlanta in a van with John's parents, Bryant, Rachel, baby Marcel, Katie, Greg and us. I was so scared of this trip! I felt a little sick a couple of times on the way down and was perfectly fine on the way back! I can't believe how well it went! And, the baby was great too!! We went for John's cousin Dan's wedding. I took this photo and I really like it!

I've also gotten some questions about Opening Day. No, we did not get tickets. We just didn't have the money this year. And, I wasn't willing to stand outside for HOURS with a sign, I need food and a bathroom close by at all times. It just wasn't going to work. We did, however watch it on TV. It was exciting to see the baseball season start, but disappointing that they lost. To Kansas City even. But, they are going to lose 60+ games this season, so it's ok. Losing the first 2 games doesn't mean anything! We are going to the game on Friday, it should be fun!
And, BIG NEWS for any females in the age group of about 27-32. These 5 guys are getting back together and touring. Yes, the New Kids on the Block. This picture is current, they still look pretty good!
