Christmas

Christmas was great!!  Jack was so much fun!  A lot more fun than last year!  

Christmas Eve we spent with John's family at Bryant and Rachel's for dinner and presents.

Then on to midnight mass, and then to Uncle Doug and Aunt Karen's house!  When we arrived at 2:30 am, we saw that Santa had already come!

We had matching PJs this year!

We got a bunch of great knitted things from Sue.... This was the best picture I could get in this awesome hat...

 

The next day we went to Indiana to celebrate with my dad, and my mom's family.

 

 

And now we have a house full of toys we don't know what to do with!

First snow!

Ok, so it's not really his first snow, since last winter we got TONS and TONS of snow, but he was just a little guy and we didn't go out in the snow much at all, only to go places! So, today we got our first real snow of the year, which wasn't much, maybe an inch or so, but I was so excited to get Jack out into it!

We got his snowsuit on, and his first impression was ok.

Then, he hated it.  And he wouldn't stand up or walk.  He just sat there and cried.

He is only smiling in this one because Daddy was running around him.

I can't blame him, it's cold and wet and he couldn't move in his snow suit.  I'd cry too.

In other, confusing news..Jack seems to be signing for milk (nursing) all of the sudden.  I rarely sign to him, and actually for several months have just given it up because I was doing it so infrequently anyway.  I figured he'd be able to ask for milk before he could sign it.  But all of the sudden I swear he's doing the sign.  Weird.

He is walking!

Jack is walking most of the time now....he still falls a lot, and he still crawls a lot, but he loves to walk, and does it as much as he can.  Here are a couple of videos of some not so great walking moments.  I guess he only walks really good when the video camera is NOT on.

Santa!

Well, we went to see Santa today.  The Santa wasn't as good this year, but still better than most I'd say....we love Somerset's Santa setup.  The pictures weren't as good as last year's either, but last year, he was a little lump, and this year he only does want HE wants to do.

Finally!!

We did a couple of 5Ks right before we got pregnant with Jack, with plans to do the Detroit Marathon in October.  Instead, we had a baby in October.   We've had plans to run ever since he was born, but we finally got around to it this summer.  Then I got hurt, and sick and we stopped.  We started again in October, but John got sick, Jack got sick, John got sick, Jack got sick, I got sick, etc.   We have managed to get a few runs in here and there, but we weren't sure if we had run enough to run a 5K on Thanksgiving.  We signed up the day before....and then low and behold I woke up with a cold.   We ran it anyway.  Slow, but we did it.  39:24.  I think I could have walked it in almost that time.  I'm really hoping it was my cold, because the last 5Ks we did were at 31:28.

Jack's first haircut!

So, I went ahead and posted Jack's birthday pictures, and forgot to blog about his haircut!   We got his first haircut on Monday before his party.   His hair was long in the back and on the sides, and was really unruly, so we decided to get it cut before his party and his 1 year pictures.

He was really good!!  We went to Carnival Cuts, at 12 Oaks, because they have little cars for the kids to sit in, and I thought Jack would need the distraction to let the girl cut his hair.  I was right, and it worked great!  We will definitely go back!

Jack is officially 1!

He finally had his birthday party!!  2 weeks late!  And, this post is 1 week late, so at almost 1 month after his birthday, I'm now posting pictures of his party.  

He was overwhelmed with all his gifts!
