15 months old.

I realized that I don't post monthly updates on Jack, since I'm not taking monthly pictures, then I thought, well, I should post a 15 month update.  Then I realized that this weekend, Jack will be 16 months old.  Time is going too fast!

So, here's a 15 month update, on my almost 16 month old baby.

He is 19 lbs, 12 oz.  The Dr was super happy with his growth, but he's still tiny.  3rd percentile for weight, 5th percentile for height.  He wears 12 months clothes, and his head is the size of a 3 year old's head.  Ha!

He talks!  At 15 months, he was saying 11 words.  Those were:  Mama, Dada, Hi, Bye, Cat, ball, hot, baby, baaaa (as in what does a sheep say), Scott and shoe. And he signs milk.  So, I guess that's 12.

Now, at almost 16 months, he has added:  up, Jack, no, nose, bellybutton, eye, head, dog, key, light, meow, and Nana.  Seems like he gets a new word every day!  Of course, no one but us can understand him :)

He also can read the words "hi" and "clap."  By read, I mean if you show him a flashcard that says "clap," he will clap.  Smart boy!

He climbs on anything and everything.  He has figured out that if he places the shopping cart near the couch, he can climb get onto the couch by himself.

He can feed himself with a spoon.  Kind of.

He likes spaghetti.

And, John and I have gotten to go out twice in like the last 3 weeks, without him!!
We hung out with our friends Kathleen and Ed a few weeks ago during the Ferndale Blues Festival.

And John and I went out for Valentine's Day.

Oh, and we signed a lease!   No Pins Required will be coming to 22446 Woodward Ave this spring!

He is walking!

Jack is walking most of the time now....he still falls a lot, and he still crawls a lot, but he loves to walk, and does it as much as he can.  Here are a couple of videos of some not so great walking moments.  I guess he only walks really good when the video camera is NOT on.

He crawls!

Well, he army crawls, and it's a struggle, and he needs the right motivation....a ball, or a cell phone.

Jack is laughing!!

Jack would not stop laughing tonight on his bouncer!! He's laughed here and there, but really short, and at odd times...he definitely was laughing at the parrot on the top of his bouncer. It's a long video, and it's all of him laughing!

Jack is playing!

Jack started actively playing with his toys! Today he was on his bouncer and was batting the toy for about 10 minutes!

More of baby Jack!

First, a few questions came up after my last post....
Benita asked if he was named after someone...and yes, he is named after my husband, John Gregory. We didn't want another John in the house, but since Jack is a nickname for John, we went that way ;)

Nicole asked if I was at the Alternative Birth Care Unit at Providence, and yes, I was. The ABC unit there was FANTASTIC! The nurses were incredible, and still are, even since we've been discharged! I couldn't have been happier with my experience there!

Here is a video John took about an hour after Jack was born. He was holding a camera too, so the video is really shaky.

We took Jack to his first doctors appointment on Friday. Everything is good, he weighs 6 lbs 8 oz. His only issue right now is breastfeeding. We are having a lot of trouble with it. Trouble isn't the right word. He just won't do it.

Here is a picture of him in his bouncer...he's a little young yet, I think, he didn't care about it at all, he just looked at me the whole time.

And, we've had lots of company.

Here's Grandma and Grandpa

And Great Grandma

On Sunday, Jack asked Uncle Bryant and Aunt Rachel to be his Godparents. They said yes!

And, here is Jack's first cloth diaper experience. I just love the fluffy butt!

Tomorrow John starts working again, so we'll see how that goes!

30 years old.

Ok so that was a little ridiculous. But, John was taping it using our new Kodak Zi6, a little tiny video camera for taping baby stuff! We practiced by taping my mom, Aunt Karen, Uncle Doug, Alex and Jillian singing happy birthday. No one should ever be video taped while being sung to, you just look silly!

That was Sunday, we all went to lunch for my birthday. My actual birthday, today, was TERRIBLE! I have developed pregnancy induced carpal tunnel, and it was in full force today. My hands have been numb, and my wrists hurting all day. I was very uncomfortable most of the work day, and I'm just ready to quit! All kinds of crappy things happened today, but I'll spare you all the details...it was just the worst birthday ever. Fitting for 30, I guess.

We are having the kitchen painted tomorrow though, hopefully that will make everything seem better!
