Big News!

And it doesn't have anything to do with Jack! Well, it does, because if I hadn't had Jack, this wouldn't be happening!

A local online cloth diaper store recently closed due to illness. I asked her if she was interested in selling the store and she was. We (my mom, John and I) made her an offer and she accepted it! We are going to open an online store!

Today we applied for an LLC, and we have a domain. Our store's name will be "No Pins Required." (Thanks to Rachel for the inspiration) and the slogan will be "Not your Mama's cloth diapers!" No one can steal it, because we own the .com, .net, .org and .info. So there!

We are going to try to be open within a month. She sold all of her stock, so we have to completely stock the store.

We are so excited!

8 Months old, and Happy Father's Day!

So, Jack is 8 months old today. The picture is getting harder and harder to take. Every month I think, it can't get any more difficult, and it does. Look at this, you can see the arms flying to the blocks to get them. Also notice the distraction block left in midair, and the S is sideways beacause Mama had to keep setting them up.


No weight or length this month, because it's our first month without a doctor's appointment. No shots this month! He's somewhere around 16 1/2 lbs though. Still a little peanut. He's getting a little more mobile. He's not crawling, but he's rolling. Everywhere. I found him under the couch one day.


He's also blowing now. It's not easy, but he puts a lot of effort into blowing air out, if you blow in his face.


He graduated from swimming lessons this month. He really likes the water! We are taking the summer off from lessons and Mama will work with him in the pool. I think I'm qualified now. In the fall, we will return to lessons at the YMCA.

We have started going to Mom and Baby yoga, and we both really like it!


He loves to be around his cousin Marcel and is very jealous that Marcel can run around on the ground. He always wants to be on the ground around Marcel.

He loves to eat, his favorite purees are bananas, and butternut squash and apple mixed. He likes lots of others, and will eat anything, even if it's not a favorite. He's not into the mesh feeder though. I put a peach slice in it, and he wanted NOTHING to do with it.


We haven't tried any finger foods yet. I'm scared, and he did just start solids at 6 months. We are going to start 3 meals a day soon, and we will add yogurt into the mix. I'm going to try to make my own. Yogurt is suprisingly easy to make! Maybe some whole milk full fat yogurt will put on some weight!

We also celebrated John's first Father's day today. I made "Big Dude" and "Lil Dude" shirts for the boys to wear. Here is Daddy and Jack with Daddy's gifts. Jack made a fingerpainting for him, and I took pictures that spell "Dad."


We had a nice lunch with John's Dad and the whole family.

Happy birthday Marcel!

Today is Jack's cousin (and our Godson) Marcel's 2nd birthday!! Rachel prepared us a yummy guatemalan dinner and we had tres leche birthday cake! Marcel loved all of his gifts, and Jack and Marcel had some dancing time! Marcel wanted to dance with Jack and Jack LOVED the attention from his cousin!




I think we might have a future piano player on our hands. Aunt Christine, Uncle Chris and Aunt Kelly and Uncle Tyler gave Marcel a piano for his birthday yesterday, and Jack LOVED it! He played and played and played!




We were planning on going to the Red Wings Stanley Cup Parade on Tuesday, but unfortunately, they lost last night. This was Jack's reaction immediately after the game was over.

Bathtime is fun!

FINALLY!! We have been trying to get this boy to enjoy a bath FOREVER! He finally does! He finally decided that whale we squirt at him is funny!! He laughed and laughed! And splashed like he does in the pool. I couldn't figure out why he liked the pool, but not the bath.

Nothing really has happened...

I know I haven't blogged in a while, but really, nothing much has happened. I do have one of the cutest pictures of Jack ever, though...


Isn't that ridiculously cute? We were at Funapalooza, and event at his Aunt Kelly's school. She really wanted us to go, but there wasn't anything for Jack to do...we found this silly thing in the playground and it looked like Jack's size. He wouldn't sit, he had to stand up in it!
