Back in the water

After many years of no swimming, I got back in the water today. It felt awful! I mean, it felt great to be swimming, but it's never been this difficult for me to swim before. I could feel it in every muscle I was using. Unbelievable how something that was always so easy for me, could feel like such a workout! I swam 2,000 yards this morning. John swam with me, and I am so impressed with him! We have swam together before, and he had a really hard time. Today, he did 1,400 yards!

We will sleep well tonight!

What has gotten into us??

The other night John and I went grocery shopping and bought tons of fresh fruit, vegetables, cereal full of fiber, whole grain bread, and we are actually COOKING. Then, tonight, we decided to renew our Bally's memberships ($8/month, can't beat that!). We haven't been able to run because of the weather, so this is great! I'm really excited to start swimming again.

Crazy stuff.

Oh, and I'm up to 14 push ups.

Go Colts!

First, let me say this: I'm not a football fan. I can watch any other sport and follow it quite well. Not the case with football. But, when you live with my husband, a little bit rubs off no matter how hard you resist. So, I can appreciate it a little bit.

That, combined with lots of Indiana blood (No, I have never lived there), I'm thrilled that the Colts are going to the Superbowl. Since the Lions just missed it (Ha!), there isn't any other team I would rather be there.

And, how can you not like Peyton Manning?

Go Colts!

In other news...the weekend sucked. The ONLY good thing about this weekend, is that I didn't have to go to work. A cable line fell on our house, we don't have a working vehicle if there is precipitation outside, we spent an hour pushing my stupid truck up and down our driveway (don't ask). We missed TigerFest. Did I mention we can't drive in precipitation? And, it's January, and snowy? My bluetooth doesn't work anymore (not that it matters since I won't be doing any driving anytime soon).

I did get my first layout done for my Heidi Swapp "A Year to Remember" Class. We were to scrap a goal. This class rocks.

I'm still around....

I haven't posted in a LOOONG time. I know. Nothing has happened that has been really bloggable. Still, really nothing has, but I don't want anyone to worry!

TigerFest is today, and we were planning on going. It's at Comerica Park, and we wanted to do the tour they were offering. Last Saturday, it sold out. SOLD OUT! It would have never occurred to me to buy tickets a week in advance. Oh well. That's what happens when your team is good. I'm glad it's snowy and cold though. Ha!

I'm still running, kind of. It's getting really cold to run. John is going out in it, but I'm kind of lazy when it's cold and snowy. I did run 2 miles in 18:50 last Monday...I was happy with that. I also did 9 push ups yesterday. There is a weird push up competition going on with my brother in law Greg, our friend Rick and my husband. So, I thought I should see how many I can do. When I was swimming, probably when I was 17 or so, I could do 50. My coach was on a push up kick at the time. FIFTY!! In a row! I am 10 years older, and 15 pounds heavier and way out of shape, so 9 isn't so bad!

It's almost the end of my year with the Scrapbook Zone Design Team. It's been up for discussion who is re-applying within the current team and who is not. It seems like half and half. I really want to do it again, so I think I will re-apply. I am scared of rejection, but I will regret not trying. Here is one of my pages for this month. A lot of people that read this blog will recognize this photo. A lot of people that read this blog will NOT recognize this photo. This is 1988, me and my cousins. I'm the oldest in the middle (no one told my mom the theme was PINK!). Melissa and Alex on one side, and Katie and Amamda on the other side. We were pretty cute back then!

Sorry for the long boring post...hopefully something bloggable happens soon!

It's only....

86 days til opening day!

We redeemed our gift certificate from Aunt Karen and Uncle Doug yesterday and paid a little extra for lower level seats. So, for the 6 best games of the season, John and I will be sitting in Sect 145, Row R. We can't wait!

We are thinking about going for a long weekend to Lakeland, Florida this March. What's in Lakeland, you ask? Tigers spring training! What more could you ask for during a weekend in March? Warm weather, one, maybe 2 Tiger games, and maybe a trip to the beach?

A Great Start!

What a great start for 2007! We ended 2006 and started 2007 with a great party at our house! We had about 15 people come over, mostly family, and we had a great time! Good food, good punch, lots of champagne and even more confetti!

Here are the photos!

Ok, this was too funny...we decided to have a parade down 9 Mile with backyard lights as torches, champagne flutes in hand, and since we don't know the words to Auld Lang Syne, we did da da das to the tune. It got chilly, so we went back home pretty quickly!

The Aftermath

Today my mom and I spent scrapbooking, and I was so productive! I finished my design team projects that were past due, and also finished my binder for my Heidi Swapp year long class that starts Thursday. What a great way to start the year!

Here is one of my design team projects...a silly page about me -

And my binder for class:

Back to work tomorrow!
