I won't quit my day job...

My sister in-laws and I held a bachelorette party on Saturday for my husband's baby sister. It was quite an adventure! We went to a instructional pole dancing party first, and we were taught a couple of routines and tricks on the pole...It is hard stuff! It is a really good workout! We all have bruises and we are sore all over! It was a lot of fun, but I am not a natural, unlike John's three sisters! The two in-laws, Rachel and I were not so great! I only included photos of me, since I don't know if my sister in laws want pictures of themselves pole dancing on the internet! Afterwards we had dinner, went to a martini bar, and then out dancing, and danced all night! We walked back home, and crashed on the floor. 2 weeks til the wedding, then all of John's family will be married! Kind of sad that it's the last one, seems like since I've known John, someone in his family has been getting married. Murray weddings are always a good time!

All of the boys were at the bachelor party this weekend, but they don't have any photos...because I wasn't there to take them. Our party sounded like way more fun anyway! Here are some more shots:

Cute or Evil??

Last night my sister-in-law and her fiance were at our house and we were talking outside on the patio....I was facing our neighbors garage, and saw something poking out of an opening in his garage behind his basketball net....I couldn't figure out what it was til I saw a head - it was a raccoon!

He started to pose for me...

And then when I looked at the pictures, I found this one - YIKES!!

Our Lucky Day

So now that my blog is fixed, I can post about our lucky day on Wednesday! After work on Wednesday, John and I decided to go to a Tiger game. We like Tiger games as you can tell by my banner. We parked our car on a side street right near the park. It's free and lots of people park there, but no one was really parked there yet, so we were feeling pretty lucky. We saw someone else pull up and park there as we were walking away. Little did we know that that person was saying to his wife "I wonder if they have tickets yet." Obviously they don't know us, because it would never occur to us to buy Tiger tickets in advance. Maybe we should consider that! So, we walk to the stadium and get in line, when he walks up to us and says, "You guys parked near us, right? Do you need tickets? I have two extra." So, we took them, and found our seats...they were FABULOUS!! $30 tickets and they were right behind home plate way in the front! And FREE! Super cool.

I had brought my 70-300 mm zoom lens just to practice with it, and I got some great shots!!!

Here are a couple:

And take a look at who we saw at the game a few rows away from us.....

Yep, Kris Draper of Red Wing fame!

Have a great Father's Day everyone!

Finally!!!!

Ok, so I've been having blogger problems. But they are now fixed!!!! BIG HUGE THANKS to Jeffery, who offered and started to help me, and Krystn, who figured out the problem! YAY!

What a weekend!

My mom and I cropped all weekend at the Zone and I was totally unproductive...all weekend and only 7 pages to show for it! But, regardless of my lack of creativity and some craziness at the crop, I still managed to do some decent pages! I'm really happy that I have already started working on our vacation photos and the few pages I did do aren't too bad! Here's some of my favorites from the weekend!

I also got an e-mail today about my upcoming publication...The book will be out in September, and it's called "The Joy of Scrapbooking." One of my wedding layouts will be in it! I'm excited to see it! The way they worded the e-mail though makes me wonder if they only used one page of my 2 page spread....hmmm.....

Have a great week everyone!

a little about me....

Benita posted this challenge on her blog, and I loved it, so here it is!

I AM: a wife, a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister in law, a niece, a granddaughter, a cousin, a Christian, an occupational therapist, a scrapbooker, a friend.
I WANT: children, a healthy happy life, to be a stay at home mom.
I HAVE: a fantastic husband, a loving family, a nice house, a wonderful life!
I WISH: I had known my Grandmother Phyllis, for children.
I HATE: doing the dishes, cooking, cleaning, COLD weather, getting out of bed.
I MISS: my Grandpa Bob so much.
I HEAR: my husband's voice, the camera click, the alarm clock, the radio, the phone ring, the tv.
I WONDER: if we will have children.
I REGRET: not starting scrapbooking when my mom wanted to!
I AM NOT: a good cook, a good housekeeper, patient.
I DANCE: all the time!
I SING: with my husband, when I listen to my ipod, at church.
I CRY: when I watch TV, when I'm sad, when I'm lonely.
I AM NOT ALWAYS: patient, in a good mood.
I MAKE WITH MY HANDS: scrapbook pages, my garden prettier, my patients better.
I WRITE: in my scrapbooks, notes at work, in my checkbook, in my blog.
I CONFUSE: my husband. a lot.
I NEED: to clean more, to exercise more, to go to bed earlier.
I SHOULD: spend more time outside, get to work earlier, take more photos, pray more.
I START: scrapbook pages, laundry, gardening, exercising.
I FINISH: hopefully everything I start!

It's a Sad Day...

...in Detroit.

So, Detroit sports were rocking this year - three of four professional sports teams were NUMBER ONE in their leauges - then the playoffs happened...

First, the best team in the NHL lost in the first round of the playoffs....

Then, the best team in the NBA lost in the Conference finals.....

well.....

At least we have the Tigers!!! They are the best team in baseball right now....we haven't been this good since 1987. It's really pretty exciting! And now that our beloved Red Wings and Pistons are out of work for the year, all of our energy has to be focused on our FAVORITE team in the city, the Tigers. We'll have to go to a game soon....
