Sick boy.

Our little man has a cold. It makes me mad, because I'm breastfeeding, I didn't think he'd get sick so early. He's congested, coughing and has a bit of a hoarse voice, but no temperature, and he's not fussy. He's his normal happy self, so that's good.

Here's some of my latest pictures of the day...

I got a bunch of new diapers! I never had any idea how exciting new diapers would be!! I got a bunch of different kinds to try out. They are so darn cute!

Jack and I had our first trip to the library. I wanted to pick up a book that Rachel recommended. It's a sleep book, because Jack doesn't nap well. He slept the whole trip to the library to pick up the book. Too funny.

Jack has a cradle cap problem, so I comb some stuff onto his head before his baths to help. I always give him a little mohawk with what little hair he has.

Jack fell asleep in John's arms last night and he just looked so sweet.

Jack noticed his mobile for the first time on his swing today. He loved it!

I got a baby yoga book at the library too, and Jack and I did yoga today. He loved it!

I finished scrapbooking Jack's birth. Here are the pages I did.

A couple of things I was just thinking (not really trying to give advice . . . just sharing my experiences with my Jack) . . .

First, you'll never know what life would have been like if you weren't breastfeeding. I'm not saying it's the cure-all miracle or anything, but you might be dealing with more than congestion. You know? Or maybe not.

Second, Jack was NEVER a good napper. We read all of the books and tried all of the tricks (except letting him cry it out . . . I couldn't do it) but we came to realize that he just didn't need as much sleep as other kids. He was down to one nap a day by about 9 months. I'm not saying your Jack is the same way, by any means, but we came to appreciate the fact that he was so alert. I think it's part of the reason he picked up on new things so quickly. And I really savored those days when he slept for more than an hour. :) But our Jack was rarely cranky or tired when he was awake, so that would have made a difference.

Oh, and we had a baby/mom yoga video and Jack LOVED it. I think it was by Parents magazine and we got it at Target.

That's all. :)

I'm going to agree with sara... not that you asked but my Pete never slept.. never. I wish I would have quit worring about it and enjoyed that he was awake instead of trying to always get him to sleep. To this day 8 years later he still doesn't need a lot of sleep. But he wasn't cranky ever either (if he was a crank it would be a totally different battle)... he still isn't. My grandma used to say it was a sign of intellegence.. just thought I'd share my experience. some of mine have been sleepers others haven't... they are what they are.

He sure is cute.. my goodness :)
