My Caruso fix

Thursday night, me and John, and our friends Neil and Tara and Scott all went to see a concert...Caruso, a local 80s band. They are brothers, that now get together once a year or so for a little reunion concert. We met Dave several years ago, and when I found out he was a rock star, I decided I needed to be a Caruso groupie. Well, since they only play once a year, it's really easy to do! We always enjoy the show, and this one was no exception! Here are some photos from the evening:

In other exciting news...last night my mom and I cropped at the Zone with Ali Edwards! She's so super cool and down to earth...found out last night that she was a swimmer in high school and college as well. We are completely different (she's a sprinter and I'm a distance swimmer) but it's a common bond that not many people understand, either way ;)

Have a great weekend! 4 days til Mexico!

{TV}

The blogging challenge this week is to post your ten favorite tv shows and ten shows you have never cared to watch...Perfect timing since it's May Sweeps and all the season finales are on in the next couple of weeks! I can't wait til all of this TV is over and we can get off the couch!!

10 All Time Favorite TV Shows (in random order):

1. The Monkees (watched this on Nick at Nite as a kid and The Monkees quickly became my favorite musical group...I have seen them in concert several times!)
2. The Dick Van Dyke Show (again, became a fan as a child on Nick at Nite - what a great night time programming Nickelodeon had in the 80s!)
3. Survivor (been a fan since day 1)
4. Lost (I tried to not watch this...I failed)
5. Desparate Housewives (love love love every trashy minute of it)
6. American Idol (poor Chris)
7. House (Dr. House is one of the all time best tv characters ever!)
8. Beverly Hills, 90210 (I was sooooo addicted to this show...started watching in jr high and watched it through college!)
9. Grey's Anatomy (This would be a REALLY great show if they made Meredith more likeable!)
10. Days Of Our Lives (Yes, I admit it. I can't stop.)

Ten Popular TV Shows I have never liked:

1. Seinfeld
2. Green Acres
3. Gilligan's Island
4. Law and Order
5. Jerry Springer
6. Married With Children
7. NYPD Blue
8. SNL
9. The Bachelor/Bachelorette (ok, I used to like this, but after a while decided it was the dumbest show ever, and therefore deserves to be on this list!)
10. Beavis and Butthead

7 days til our Mexican vacation!!

"Best Ever"

I scrapped this page today, because of a challenge at The Scrapbook Zone. I had been wanting to scrap this for a while now though, because recently, people, especially my brother-in-law Bryant, have been making fun of me because I exaggerate a lot and say everything is the "Best Ever."

There are some things that are true though!! Like, I have the best husband ever, the best mom ever, the Scrapbook Zone is the best scrapbooking store ever, and Como's is the best pizza ever. And, it just so happens that Como's pizza is refered to as the "Best Ever," a lot. And not everyone agrees, particularly my brother-in-law Bryant. My future brother-in-law Greg, on the other hand, agrees with me. Greg is cool.

So, if you are anywhere near Ferndale, Michigan, and would like to try the BEST PIZZA EVER, head over to Como's. Let me know what you think!! I prefer my pizza with pepperoni and onions, but they have tons of toppings to choose from! Como's also has some really yummy homemade ranch dressing, so get some on the side for dipping! YUM!!

Anyone have any "best evers?"

This weekend was so busy, I can't believe it's over already! It was the Zone's 4th birthday celebration, so Friday, my mom and I went shopping to take advantage of the great deals!

Saturday was my sister-in-law's bridal shower. It was a Mexican theme, and it was crazy! My in-laws throw the craziest bridal showers! Very unusual bridal shower games....we had to draw pictures of the couple and they picked the best one, we had a Mexican Jumping Bean contest (don't ask!) and there was of course, a pinata. And, lots of yummy Mexican food. As crazy as their parties are, we always have a great time. The photo is a page I did this weekend about another party with all of my in-law's at our house, for St. Patrick's Day! You can see the craziness in this page!

Today my mom and I did our usual Sunday scrapbooking at the Zone. Always a good time!

{Cravings}

I thought I'd do a blog challenge today...it is to List ten food cravings that you easily cave in to! If there was one offered, you’d never turn it down. (Unless you are going to Mexico in 20 days and have to turn everything down to fit back into your honeymoon clothes).

So here they are:
1. Diet Coke. I love it. I have given it up before and I don't drink nearly as much as I used to, but it is such a treat to have one! Preferably in a styrofoam cup with ice and a straw.

2. Ice Cream. I've loved ice cream ever since I was little. Some of my favorite memories of my grandpa is us eating ice cream at crazy times in the day! My favorite flavors are: vanilla, mint chocolate chip, pistachio, blue moon and Meijer brand cotton candy confetti.

3. Doughnuts. I LOVE doughnuts. Just no filling please. I prefer glazed with chocolate frosting and sprinkles.

4. Potato Chips and french onion dip. Heaven.

5. French fries. Preferably with chili and cheese. But plain with salt and ketchup will do the trick too.

6. Bell peppers, any color. I LOVE peppers. Raw and crunchy.

7. Pizza. I could eat Pizza every day and not get sick of it I think. So could my husband. that's not a good thing! My favorite: Como's (local pizza place) deep dish with pepperoni and onion and dipped in their homemade ranch.

8. Corn. on the cob, out of a can, creamed, any way, I like it!

9. Celery. Weird, I know. I love celery. with ranch veggie dip.

10. Watermelon. I'm not that big on fruit, but I LOVE watermelon.

Should we be nervous?

So, in 22 days, we are going on vacation.
To Mexico.
For 7 nights.
All inclusive.

We really are much too poor to be taking a nice vacation, but we found a really great deal that we couldn't pass up. It includes airfare, and a 7 night stay at a "5 apple" all inclusive resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. We are quite familiar with Riviera Maya, because we honeymooned there...this is one of my favorite photos from that trip.

There is a catch to this great deal. They don't tell you what resort you are staying at til you get to the airport. We decided it was worth the risk, because how bad can a 5 apple all inclusive resort be??

Well, today we spoke with our travel agent, and she gave us a list of the possible resorts as of today (as they book up, they are then not on the possiblity list) So, we looked up all the resorts on tripadvisor.com. There are a couple bad reviews for all the resorts, but there are also many more good reviews than bad.....but it still made us a little nervous! We decided that some people are just too hard to please, and we are totally not picky. We will be on a beautiful beach in Mexico. How bad can it be??

A little bit of excitement!

Ok, so this is one of my most recent layouts, a design team assignment for the Zone. For those of you that don't know....my mom and I went to CKU (Creating Keepsakes University) in March to create a super cool album by our favorite scrapbooking celebrities (are they really celebrities??) I chose Heidi Swapp's album (the Theme was SHE)...I love her products soooo much! and my album is so fabulous, I will treasure it always. So, this is the only photo I have from CKU, and I scrapped it.

A few people told me I should e-mail it to Heidi
So, I did.

And....she wrote me back! She loved the layout and was glad I shared it with her!

Simple pleasures....

Should I blog?

Ok, here is the beginnings of my blog.....now the question is....do I keep it? Seems like everyone else is doing it! I'm normally not one for peer pressure, but it kind of seems like fun! I just don't know who is going to read it! And, if I have anything worthwhile to say.....it's just me and John, no kids, no pets...not much excitement! Decisions, decisions.....
