Catching up!

For some reason, I can't keep up with this blog!

These photos are from a couple of weeks ago. First, my mom has bought a house! One street from us! And, her basement (very nicely finished) will be our scrap room! Yes, we are going to stop carting around scrapbook supplies and actually have a room with our stuff in it! We are very excited!

This is us emptying my mom's Aztec for the last time!

We have been busy organizing our new room! We made a trip to Ikea and bought a ton of organizational stuff. I will post pictures when we are finished!

That weekend, was the Woodward Dream Cruise, and John's Uncle Jim's birthday. We had a party for him, and he has a classic car, so he brought it and let us cruise around in it! It was fun to actually be able to cruise this year!

Super Hero Weekend

Super Scrapbook Girl.

That is the superhero I came up with when Christine told us she was throwing Chris a Super Hero Surprise 40th birthday party. Superheroes are hard to dress up as! John found a Greatest American Hero costume online and I decided to make up my own. Super Scrapbook Girl. My scissor emblem was on my cape and I wore a tool belt with scrapping supplies in it. We had a blast, people really came up with some great costumes.

Oh, and my motto was "Saving the world's memories one scrapbook at a time."

Then on Saturday, Ferndale hosted the annual Green Cruise, kind of a slam on the Dream Cruise, encouraging everyone to bike, walk, rollerblade, etc. instead of driving and doing whatever possible to help the environment. We have already started by giving up our TV!

We biked in the parade. John, Chris and Rick decided it would be a good idea to be in the parade as their super heroes from the night before! People LOVED them! CW50 even interviewed them! (not that we will see it, since we don't have a TV!)

Sunday we went to bachelor/bachelorette parties for Adam and Jill, who are getting married next weekend. The boys played paintball and the girls went canoeing.

We are glad the weeked is over! We love our costumes though, so if anyone would like to have a superhero party, let us know, we'd be happy to wear them again!

You'd think...

That without TV I'd have plenty of time to blog. We haven't missed TV really at all, although we have made a few trips for dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings to watch part of the game. Not that there has been much to watch...the Tigers have had a terrible stretch, that I thought would end with our game last Saturday against the White Sux. We had been on a winning streak for our games attended, but they lost, ending our streak. Hopefully we aren't starting a new one!

The Friday before last, was the annual Ferndale Pub Crawl. John's family joined us this year, kind of celebrating Katie's birthday. It's a tour of 21 different establishments throughout Ferndale and it's walking only! We had a great time!

Here's a few photos:

Me and Christine drinking Martinis at one of our first stops.

This nightclub had beds all around the perimeter....apparently you can rent them for parties for $300! We couldn't get the bed in the photo, but it's behind us.

All of the girls...there were boys with us, but I clearly did not take any pictures of them! (whoops!)

In other news, my mom just bought a house one street over from us, that is cool, because now we can have a scrapbook room to share all of our stuff!

I will try to blog more frequently from now on!
